December 20, 2014
We regret to announce the passing of Mrs. Ruth Moore on December 16 in Huntsville, Alabama. She used to attend Glendale City, and was part of the committee that selected our choir robes; she also assisted Pastor Denise Kasischke in playing piano for the children’s divisions. Additionally, some physicians may remember her from the time she worked at County Hospital. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.
Don't miss our Annual Petting Zoo today, Saturday, December 20, at 9:30 a.m. Join us for hot cocoa and pastries and enjoy the animals. Invite friends!
Grace Center (Fellowship Hall, north end)—New book study: “131 Christians Everyone Should Know” by the Editors of Christian History Magazine. Examining the lives of history-changing Christians, this book shows how thought leaders among preachers, musicians, missionaries, denominational founders, and others have forever changed the course of the Christian Church. Vignettes of life stories as diverse as Martin Luther, Billy Graham, J. S. Bach, Harriet Tubman, and William Miller inspire us today to learn from their examples. (See also christianhistoryinstitute.org for more fascinating historical data, carefully and objectively researched.)
Please note that there will be no young adult luncheon or church potluck today.

National Homeless Day, commemorated on the first day of winter—the longest night of the year—falls on a Sunday this year; for that reason the vigil will be held on the following day, December 22.
